Welcome on board, Drop. Sorry for the delay in answering, as I just came back from two weeks off. To answer your question, there are few books on the tattooing tradition among the Taiwan aboriginal people, but none of them appears completely focused on the subject, to my knowledge. There was a good work from a photograph that managed to take portraits of the last remaining Atayal people with facial tattoos. For you, to begin with, I would recommend the "Bible", the Chen Chi-lu's 'Material Culture of the Formosan Aborigines' in which he dedicates few pages to the body deformations, pp.246 to 260, with some interesting reproductions of tattoos. Best, Gehaobo |
