The World Summit of Indigenous Cultures 2008 will take place from April 11 to 17. Participants from Taiwan and all over the world will exchange views on the themes of “indigenous environmental wisdom and protection of the earth’s environment”, “indigenous belief systems today” and “developing indigenous enterprise”. A two-day conference on the above themes will take place in Taipei on April 13 and 14. This will be followed by a three-day tour of indigenous villages in Pingtung, Hualien and Taitung on April 15, 16 and 17. For information regarding the summit including list of speakers and itinerary, please go online to http://indigenous.pristine.net/event/index_en.html or e-mail at wsic2008@gmail.com If you are interested in attending the World Summit of Indigenous Cultures 2008, please fill out the registration form, which can be downloaded at http://indigenous.pristine.net/event/registration_form_en.html and fax it to the number shown on the form. For domestic participants, the conference fee is NT$6,000 per person. The indigenous village tour is also NT$6,000 per person, but if attending the conference, a discounted rate of NT$4,500 is offered. For foreign participants, whether living in Taiwan or abroad, attendance at the conference is free and village tour is NT$4,500 per person.
